Regional volleyball kicks off Tuesday
The postseason begins for the Class 2A and 1A volleyball teams across the state of Iowa on Tuesday night.
That means five area teams will be in playoff action, with a pair of area head-to-head matchups.

The postseason begins for the Class 2A and 1A volleyball teams across the state of Iowa on Tuesday night.
That means five area teams will be in playoff action, with a pair of area head-to-head matchups.
In Class 2A, the Highland Huskies will host Columbus in both teams? first playoff game of the postseason.
Highland won all three season matches between the teams, sweeping the Wildcats 2-0 in the Highland tournament and the conference tournament, and then claiming a 3-0 match victory at Columbus on Oct. 6.
The Huskies are offensively led by sophomore Sydney Black, who has 142 kills on the year, while senior Briana Davis is close behind with 137 kills, as Highland has accumulated an 18-12 record.
Senior Jenna Dresselhaus leads the team with 252 assists, while junior Kelsey Hora has 344 digs to lead the Huskies. Black leads the team with 42 aces on the season, while Hora has a team-best 95.9 percent serving percentage.
Columbus has a 6-22 record this season, and is led by junior Shania Boyd?s 121 kills, followed by senior Laura Mincks who has 112.
Mincks has been strong serving this season, converting at a rate of 98 percent, only missing four of her 199 attempts on the year. Boyd leads the team with 30 aces.
Senior Kortney Orr leads the team with 223 assists, while Mincks has a team-high 224 digs.
The match will begin at 7 p.m. with the winner advancing to face Louisa-Muscatine on Oct. 27 at Highland.
In Class 1A, Iowa Mennonite and Keota will be squaring off for the first time this season, when the Eagles travel to Kalona.
IMS, who sits at 12-18 on the year, is led by Natalie Graber, who has recorded 160 kills on the season, followed by senior Jessica Bender, who has notched 124 kills. Graber has notched 61 aces on the season to lead the team, while sophomore Avery Blauvelt has a team-best serving percentage of 94.
Junior Alijah Beatty has a team-high 358 assists, while Graber has a team-high 172 digs. Beatty has 167 digs and sophomore Rachel Miller has 150 digs on the season.
Keota has gone 2-16 on the season, and has been led by senior Cortney Hyman?s 73 kills, followed by senior Alyssa White?s 64 kills.
Freshman Addison Sprouse leads the team with 25 aces on the season, while junior Erin Chalupa has a team-best 91 percent serving percentage.
Senior Abby Schulte has 214 assists on the season, while Sprouse has led the team with 142 digs and Hyman has 123 digs.
The match will start at 7 p.m. and the winner will go on to face Springville on Oct. 27.
The WACO volleyball team (8-18) will also open its postseason on Tuesday when it hosts English Valleys (3-21).
Senior Cierra McArtor led the team with 99 kills, while junior Mayme Hinh finished the regular season with 90 kills.
Molly Edgar finished the year with a team-high 35 aces, while junior Halle Kissell had a team-high 266 assists on the season.
The match will start at 7 p.m., with the winner advancing to play the winner of Burlington, Notre Dame and Winfield-Mt. Union.
