Returning SEC volleyball players to watch for in 2021 season

In the Southeast Conference in 2020, there were 17 players with more kills than the 80 of Fairfield’s Ellie Anderson, who was in her junior season. Seniors accounted for 14 of those 17 players.
Fairfield’s Anna Dunlap, Mt. Pleasant’s Kenna Lamm and Keokuk’s Abby Wolter, all juniors last season, are the only returning players with a kill-producing swing of more than 80.
Of the top 13 blockers, nine were seniors, four were Trojans and three of those four return, including the top blocker in the league.
⋆ Mallory Lyon, senior, Fairfield — Lyon led the Southeast Conference in blocks with 55, assisted blocks with 33, was third in solo stops at 22, registered 66 kills, .101 kill rate.
⋆ Maddie Jones, sophomore, Fairfield — Her 252 assists were fifth in the SEC, hit 207-for-216 serves for 95 percent, landing 22 aces, 92 digs
⋆ Regan Seeburg, senior, Mt. Pleasant — Fourth in the Southeast Conference with 338 digs, 10 aces on 118-of-130 serves.
⋆ Ralyn Seeburg, senior, Mt. Pleasant — Third in conference in attempts and success serving at 261-of-291, fourth in SEC in both assists (255) and aces (37), had four blocks, 155 digs.
⋆ Anna Dunlap, senior, Fairfield — 162 kills tied for fourth, kill efficiency of .156 was third, 488 attacks was sixth, had eight blocks, 134 digs.
⋆ Kenna Lamm, senior, Mt. Pleasant — 162 kills tied for fourth, 583 attacks was second, .117 kill efficiency was seventh, 16 blocks, 253 digs was eighth, 28 aces on 90 percent successful serving.
⋆ Remy Messinger, sophomore, Washington — Had 41 kills, .126 efficiency, served at 95 percent rate last season with six aces, 166 assists were eighth in SEC, 148 digs and eight blocks.
⋆ Kenializ Espinoza, junior, Washington — Led returning Demons in kills with 59, in attacks with 293, kill efficiency was .085, six aces, five blocks, 86 digs.
