Rourke strikes out 9 in victory

Mid-Prairie improved its softball record to 7-14 Monday with a 8-1 home win against River Valley Conference opponent Bellevue.
Cassidy Rourke tossed the win by allowing eight hits over seven innings with no walks and nine strikeouts.
Rourke was a force on the offensive side as well, connecting on a home run. She also hit a single among her four at-bats, had two runs batted in, scored three runs and stole two bases.
Karsen Jehle went 2 for 3 with two RBI and Golden Hawk teammate Kylee Kos had a single and a double.
Mid-Prairie is 5-8 in the RVC and plays Friday at Cascade.

In a SEISC North Division home game Monday, Mia Graber, Esther Hughes and Sarah Miller each had a hit in the loss.
