Rundquist named State Coach of the Year
Mt. Pleasant Basketball Coach Paul Rundquist has been named the Iowa Basketball Coaches? Association?s (IBCA) Coach of the Year for Class 3A.
Rundquist was named first as the Class 3A Substate 6 Coach of the Year, as chosen by the coaches in the substate. Each substate did the same, and from that list of eight substate coaches, the IBCA board members selected the state coaches of the year.

Mt. Pleasant Basketball Coach Paul Rundquist has been named the Iowa Basketball Coaches? Association?s (IBCA) Coach of the Year for Class 3A.
Rundquist was named first as the Class 3A Substate 6 Coach of the Year, as chosen by the coaches in the substate. Each substate did the same, and from that list of eight substate coaches, the IBCA board members selected the state coaches of the year.
Rundquist led the Panthers to a record-breaking 26-win season, their third straight state tournament appearance and the school?s first state championship title since 1918.
With 211 wins, Rundquist is the winningest coach in Mt. Pleasant Community High School history, and this is his second consecutive State Coach of the Year award.
