Saturday baseball roundup: Cardinal wins, Pekin downed twice

With baseball season now in full swing, Union area baseball teams are competing in games throughout the week. Many are even playing on Saturday.
Cardinal 7, BGM 1
Cardinal trailed for three innings against BGM on Saturday, but the Comets scored seven in three innings to pull past the Bears.
Drake Durflinger finished with two hits in the game. Blaine Bryant, Landon Becker, Gavin Ware, Carson Kenney and Kaleb Figueroa each finished with one hit.
Bryant, Tristin Cloke and Tatem Telfer all pitched in the game.
Cardinal 8, BGM 6
The Comets defeated the Bears for a second time on Saturday. BGM led 4-3 after two innings, but Cardinal went on to outscore the Bears 5-2 the rest of the way.
Cardinal had 12 hits in the win.
Blaine Bryant and Tatem Telfer both had three hits. Landon Becker and Quin Snyder each had two. Tristin Cloke and Carson Kenney both had two.
Bryant and Cloke each pitched for the Comets.
Kee 14, Pekin 2
Pekin struggled with No. 2 rated Kee on Saturday, despite accumulating 10 hits in the game.
Blake Juhl and Jackson Horras both went 3-3. Chase Stansberry finished 2-3. Colton Comstock and Koy Pollock both ended 1-3.
Hudson VanEnglenhoven, Horras, and Deklan Hampton all pitched for the Panthers.
Pella Christian 8, Pekin 5
Pekin took a 5-2 lead after two innings, but the Panthers never scored again while the Eagles scored six themselves.
