Sayre skies to 1,000 kills

KEOSAUQUA - Van Buren senior Selena Sayre punched her ticket to the 1,000 kills club in Van Buren's sweep of Danville on Tuesday night. She recorded 19 kills to join an exclusive club.

The milestone came in Van Buren's fifth-straight SEISC South Divisoin win this season. The Warriosr won their fourth game in a row overall and moved to 15-2 on the season.

Van Buren sandwiched a nail-biter with a couple of blowout sets. The Warriors took the match 25-10, 26-24, 25-6.

Sayre also co-led the squad in aces during the win. She tallied two aces, matching the total set by Isabel Manning.

Taryn Scheuermann had 10 kills and eight blocks in the win. Madison Bartholomew had five blocks of her own.

Manning led the squad with 26 digs. Logan Schmidt had 21 assists.
