KALONA — Hillcrest Academy’s Liam Schrock could do no wrong at the plate on Saturday night in the Ravens Class 1A-5 game against Lone Tree.
The sophomore not only went 4-for-4 in the game, but hit a whopping three home runs, which included a grand slam.
Schrock finished with seven RBIs in the game.
His leadoff home run in the first inning got the Ravens going and the rest is history.
After making quick work of the Lions in the top of the second, Schrock struck again with his second homer of the game, this time clearing the bases with a grand slam.
Senior Grand Bender also notched himself a homer in the inning and by the frames close the Ravens held a 9-0 advantage.
Lone Tree could never make up the difference.
Hillcrest scored one more in the third and one each in the fifth and sixth.
The Lions scored a pair in the fourth, but that’s all they could muster.
Luke Schrock put in a great four innings on the mound, giving up just one hit, two runs (zero earned) with seven strikeouts.
Seth Ours closed the final two innings with one strikeout and no hits.
Grant Bender finished 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Luke Schrock and Josiah Beachy each had a hit and RBI.
Rowan Miller and Mason Bender had hits as well.
With the win, the Ravens advance to play Keota on Wednesday.
