Schultz leads Huskies to Hillcrest baseball win

KALONA — Chase Schultz had a command performance in a Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division road game. Tuesday, Schultz helped Highland rebounded from an opening loss Monday to defeat Hillcrest in baseball 5-2.
It took four runs in the top of the final inning to overcome the Ravens. Schultz, Logan Bonebrake and Chase Miller had two hits apiece for the Huskies. Miller and Bonebrake each laced a double. Schultz batted in two runs.
Schultz held the Ravens in check by throwing 11 strikeouts with three walks and three hits in a complete game performance. Neither run was earned.
Jace Rempel had two hits for Hillcrest. Josiah Beach batted in a run. London Schrock gave up a run and five hits with no walks and three strikeouts. Hillcrest teammate allowed four hits, three walks, and four runs.
