SEC boys and girls bowling teams released
Mt. Pleasant leads Union boys with three selections, five Panther girls named

The Southeast Conference bowling teams were released last week with Mt. Pleasant, Fairfield and Washington all representing on the lists.
Mt. Pleasant leads the Union area on both lists, followed by Fairfield and Washington.
The Panther girls lead the area with five total all-conference selections. Fairfield and Washington did not have any first or second team picks. On the boys’ side, Mt. Pleasant ended with three picks, followed by Fairfield with two and Washington one.
For the Mt. Pleasant girls, senior Addison McGehearty is the lone first team selection. McGehearty bowled the highest game on the season for the Panthers, a 245 score. She also took fifth in the individual conference meet, notching 350 total pins.
On second team for the Panthers, senior Kya Goodrich, junior Bethany Drury and sophomores Madelynn Millard and Shyann Smith were all named.
Representing the Panther boys on first team is senior Alec Payne and sophomore Keagan Ellington.
Payne was this year’s SEC boys champion after bowling a high score of 463. The senior led Mt. Pleasant with a score per game of 185.92 on the season and notched a high series with 488 points.
As for Ellington, the sophomore earned the honor after finishing sixth in the SEC meet with a final score of 408.
Sophomore Titus Reno was given a second team distinction.
For Fairfield, junior Ethan Cass is a first teamer. Cass, the 2023 conference champion, took fourth this time around with a final score of 419. He led the Trojans with a high game of 252 and score per game with 196.43.
Second team for Fairfield is sophomore Dayson Workman. Workman took 10th in the conference tournament.
Washington’s lone first team pick is senior Caleb Zieglowsky. Zieglowsky took third in the SEC meet and was the Demons top bowler this season. He bowled a game high of 267 and led with a score per game of 193.19.
