SEC boys on verge of postseason, girls set to begin

For the Southeast Conference, on the boys’ side, the postseason is nearly here.
For the SEC girls, that time is now.
The SEC Champion, Mt. Pleasant boys (17-3) and the Fairfield boys (9-9) will wrap up conference play against one another.
Mt. Pleasant has been rolling as of late, coming into the matchup winners of 12 straight.
As for the Trojans, they come into the conference clash off a loss to Mid-Prairie on Tuesday.
Mt. Pleasant got the better of Fairfield in their previous meeting 57-48.
Washington (10-8) will play host to Keokuk (7-12) on Friday.
Washington comes in off a loss to Williamsburg on Monday night, after winning three straight games.
Keokuk are losers of two straight.
The Demons downed Keokuk, 69-45 in their last meeting on January 13.
In other boys’ action, Burlington (13-6) will take on Fort Madison (6-12).
The Mt. Pleasant girls (11-11) will open Class 4A Region 7 play next Wednesday against SEC foe Fort Madison (13-6).
Fort Madison defeated the Panthers 24-19 in their last meeting.
Washington (7-13) and Fairfield (2-18) will both kick off Class 3A Region 2 action on Saturday.
The Demons will hit the road to take on Davenport Assumption (12-8).
Fairfield will be on the road as well, traveling up to Solon to take on the Spartans (19-2).
