KEOKUK — Southeast Conference (SEC) girls golf was in Keokuk on Thursday for another all SEC matchup.
Leading the area was once again the Demons of Washington with a competition low of 162. Fairfield followed the Demons with a fourth-place finish, tallying 195 points. Mt. Pleasant did not post a team score, due to only having three golfers.
Keokuk finished second with 189 points, Burlington took third with 190 and Fort Madison ended in fifth with 258.
Washington’s Makenna Conrad narrowly missed the medalist honor, coming up short in a tiebreaker to Lauren Briggs of Burlington.
Conrad and Briggs both shot a 36.
Kaylin Long finished just three strokes behind with a 39. That was good enough for third. Mallary Johnson followed with a 43. Adalyn Long carded a 44. Alecia Goff and Haley Mitchell both shot a 46. Maci Williams added an 48.
For Fairfield, Viola Welsh was the highest finisher. Welsh shot a 42 in the meet for fifth.
Sara Kretz posted a 50, Macy Rayburn shot a 51, Myah Twohill had a 52, Maggie Rayburn ended with a 55 and Kate Pettit had a 55 as well.
For Mt. Pleasant, Kylie Walderbach shot a 44. Elaina Holtkamp carded a new personal best with a 54 and Felicity Metcalf shot a 67.
The SEC girls will return to action on Monday with a meet in Mt. Pleasant.
