WASHINGTON — The Southeast Conference girls golf season kicked off on Monday night with Washington hosting the first meet of the season.
Mt. Pleasant, Washington and Fairfield all completed. The three area squads finished in that order for third, fourth and fifth respectively. The Panthers posted 235 points, Washington 246 points and Fairfield 258.
Keokuk took the meet title with a score of 218 and Fort Madison finished second with 223 points.
For Mt. Pleasant, Sophia Walderbach led the way with a 52. That was good enough for second in the individual standings.
Ashlynn Beauchamp followed with a 57 for the Panthers. That earned her a top 10 finish as well. Izzy Zihlman golfed a 61. Vivian Cornell and Kaylen Hunold both finished with a 65. Olivia McCormick ended with 84.
Washington was paced by Lauren Hinrichsen, who ended with a 57 and a top 10 finish. Elizabeth Hora carded a 60 for the Demons. Lucy Sands closed with 64, Sydney Stouder scored a 65 and Pressley Hora a 79.
Ella Bentler notched a third overall finish for Fairfield after golfing a 53. Olivia Hollander and Addie Qualters both tallied 68s. Vanessa Kessel notched a 69. Aries Wagner finished with a 77 and Lexi McGrath had an 86.
Keokuk’s Allison Ames took the individual title with a 44.
The SEC girls will be back in action on Thursday, this time competing at Fairfield Golf and Country Club.
