SEC meet to be picked up Saturday

MOUNT PLEASANT ? The crowning of Southeast Conference champions was cut short Thursday night, and the Fairfield girls? and boys? track teams will have to wait a little longer to know the full results.

The SEC meet was suspended due to lightning between the boys? distance medley and the girls? sprint medley, leaving the girls? with four events left and the boys with three.

Starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, the teams will pick up the conference meet where they left off. On the girls? side, events remaining include the sprint medley, 1,500, 4x100 and 4x400. The boys have the 800, 4x100 and 4x400 on tap.

Results will not be released until all events are completed. They will appear in Monday?s Ledger.
