SEC titles still in play with two weeks remaining

It has been an exciting year in the Southeast Conference, and that doesn't look to change in the final two weeks of league play. With SEC teams having five-to-seven conference games left, both conference leaders sit a game or less above their next closest competitors.
The SEC boys race has been wild, with close game after close game making every night an adventure, but Washington and Keokuk have held their respective heads above water more than anyone else.
After a thrilling one-point win over Mt. Pleasant last Friday and a 16-point win against Fairfield on Tuesday, the Demons sit atop the SEC with a 6-1 record. Washington has swept the other two Union area teams, and can clinch the conference championship with three more wins.
The Demons play all three of their final conference games at home, but are currently reeling from an injury to leading scorer Kasen Bailey (14.1 ppg) in Tuesday's game.
Washington's only SEC loss came at Keokuk by just two points. The Demons will host Burlington tonight (Friday). The Grayhounds are still very much in the hunt, sitting at 3-2. Washington still has to play Ft. Madison again, as well as the second-place Chiefs.
Mt. Pleasant could remain in the hunt with a win at Keokuk tonight. The Panthers are 4-3 in conference play. They still have to play at Burlington and at home against Fairfield after tonight's contest.
The Fairfield girls are still one game behind Keokuk. The Chiefs are 6-0 in SEC girls play, and the Trojans are 5-1.
The Chiefs and Trojans seem to be a head above the rest, making Fairfield's Febuary 7 game at Keokuk the biggest game left on the schedule on the girls side.
Along with Keokuk, the Trojans have to play a home game against Washington, a team that gave them trouble through three quarters in their last contest. Fairfield also has to play Mt. Pleasant and Burlington on back-to-back days in February, playing at Mt. Pleasant on Febuary 14 and at Burlington on February 15.
