The Washington wrestling team holds the early advantage in the Southeast Conference heading into the 2024 calendar year. The Demons are one of two teams to not take a loss in SEC duals in December.
Washington opened the conference season with a 42-28 win over Fairfield. The Demons followed that up with a dominant 78-6 beating of Keokuk.
The only other team that hasn’t lose an SEC dual is Fort Madison. The defending conference champions defeated Mt. Pleasant 66-18 on the Bloodhounds’ own home floor.
Mt. Pleasant and Fairfield each have a win on the year. Mt. Pleasant thumped Keokuk 49-24 at a home triangular, and Fairfield narrowly slipped by Burlington at home, winning 41-39.
Burlington and Fort Madison are the only two SEC teams to only have one conference dual in the books.
