WACO leads North, followed by Hillcrest Academy; Van Buren County, New London battle in the South

The Southeast Iowa Super Conference North and South seasons are entering the second half the season with the new year.
Both conference races are heating up with just a game separating the top seeds in the both divisions.
In the North, WACO leads with a record of 5-0 in the conference. Hillcrest Academy (5-1) and Winfield-Mt. Union (4-1) follow.
Pekin (3-2) is right there as well, followed by Columbus (2-3), Louisa-Muscatine (2-3), Lone Tree (2-4), Highland (1-4) and Wapello (0-6).
At the end of the week, WACO will look to keep a hold of the North against Columbus at home.
Hillcrest Academy hosts Louisa-Muscatine. Pekin hits the road against Highland and Winfield-Mt. Union will defend home court against Wapello.
In the South, Van Buren County (2-4) and New London (0-5) have some work to do.
West Burlington holds firm control of the league with a 6-0 record.
Burlington Notre Dame and Holy Trinity Catholic both hold a 5-1 record. Mediapolis is 3-2 and Central Lee 2-3.
On Friday, New London and Van Buren County will both face tough tasks. The Tigers will host Holy Trinity Catholic and the Warriors West Burlington.
Also in action, Danville hosts Notre Dame and Mediapolis Central Lee.
