Columbus unbeaten in the North, Van Buren County looks for run in the South

The Southeast Iowa Super Conference North and South girls race is heating up.
As play resumes this week, its still anyone’s conference title to win.
In the Southeast Conference North division, Columbus currently leads with an unblemished record of 6-0. Lone Tree follows at 5-2.
Highland (4-2) and WACO (4-2) follow close behind. Hillcrest Academy (3-3) and Pekin (3-3) are not out of it. Louisa-Muscatine (1-4) and Winfield-Mt. Union (1-4) as well as Wapello (0-7) round out the final three spots.
To kick off the new year, Columbus will look to stay perfect with a win at WACO on Friday.
Highland hosts Pekin, Hillcrest Academy is at home against Louisa-Muscatine and Winfield-Mt. Union will take on Wapello at home.
In the South, Holy Trinity Catholic and Mediapolis both hold the top spot. They’re both 5-0.
Central Lee and Danville are both 3-2. Van Buren County sits in the middle of the pack at 2-3. Burlington Notre Dame (1-4), West Burlington (1-5) and New London (0-4) round out the South.
On Friday, Van Buren County will look for another South win against West Burlington at home.
New London hosts Holy Trinity Catholic. Mediapolis squares off with Central Lee at home. Danville is set to take on Notre Dame.
