The Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Divison was a pretty close race a year ago.
Wapello ended with the conference crown last fall after going undefeated, 8-0.
Union area teams in Winfield-Mt. Union, WACO, Highland, Hillcrest Academy, Columbus and Pekin were all right there as well.
Winfield-Mt. Union just missed the SEISC North title after going 7-1, with that loss coming to the Arrows.
Highland finished the season 6-2, while WACO ended 5-3. Columbus followed with a 4-4 conference record, Hillcrest Academy went 3-5 and Pekin went 2-6.
Lone Tree and Louisa-Musctine are also featured. They finished 1-7 and 0-8 last year.
Winfield-Mt. Union loses some key players from last time around, which includes its leading kills, assists and digs leaders. Kellee Milks does return. Milks had a team second best 103 kills.
No double digit assister comes back. Meanwhile, in the digs department, Pacey Schlee is the highest returner, finishing with 159 last season.
WACO replaces a ton of talent. The top three kills leaders from last season are gone. Ally Rinner is the highest returner, tallying 79 in 2023.
There will be a brand-new setter for the Warriors as well. Meredith Roth, who had 493 assists in her senior season is gone.
Brenna Graber is the only Warrior to hit triple digit digs that comes back.
Highland loses quite a bit as well. The Huskies top two kills leaders are not back. Adeline Krotz will pace Highland. She finished with 104 last season.
A bright spot for the Huskies is that Laney Skelton is back. She was one of two Huskies to reach over 200 assists. Skelton is also the top returning digger, carding 114 last fall.
Meanwhile, Columbus doesn’t lose anyone. The Wildcats return every top five statistical player.
Lily Coil led the Wildcats with 176 kills last year as well as 280 digs. Jessica Del Rio (97 kills) and Kennedy Woepking (96 kills) will go again too.
Daniela Diaz ended with 442 assists to lead Columbus and she returns.
Much like Columbus, Hillcrest Academy brings back the entire roster.
Malia Yoder is the Ravens kills and digs leader with 209 and 302 respectively. Kylee Statler had 111 kills to follow. Claire Withrow tallied 468 assists to take the top spot in that category.
Finally, for Pekin Kayse Miller and Myah Bainbridge are the highest returning kills leaders. Miller led the Panthers with 97 kills a year ago, followed by Bainbridge with 91.
Bainbridge was also Pekin’s leading setter with 226. Defensively, Bainbridge is the highest returner as well, finishing with 149 last season.
