Central Lee's loss in the state tournament on Monday meant the Southeast Iowa Super Conference baseball season was officially done, and that meant the release of the 2019 all-conference teams.
New London led Henry County with seven selections on the SEISC-South Division team. Winfield-Mt. Union had three players named to the North Division squads.
Two Tigers were named to the South-Division squad. Senior outfielder Darius Whaley was picked, as was junior Jaxon Allen, who was selected as a utility player.
Whaley hit .414 for New London, knocking in 16 RBIs on the year. He led or co-led the team with eight doubles and two triples. He was also a top Tiger on the mound, ending the year with a 3.90 ERA and 31 strikeouts.
Allen hit .321 on the year, leading the team with 20 RBIs. On the mound, Allen had a 3.94 ERA and 11 strikeouts.
The Tigers had three players named to the South Division team. Junior pitcher Seth Bailey (4.25 ERA, 15 Ks), junior catcher Shae Summerfield (.429, 18 RBIs) and freshman infielder Carter Allen (.322, 18 RBIs) were all named to the squad.
W-MU had one second-team nomination. Sophomore Jacob Ford (.254, 13 RBIs) was named to the second-team on the North Division side.
Both New London and W-MU had two players named to the honorable mention list. New London freshmen Conner Schoenbein and Kooper Schulte were named to the South squad and W-MU juniors Christian Gerot and Dawson Bergthold were named to the North squad.
