SEISC softball All-Conference selections
Highland, Cardinal lead Union area with 10 selections each

With the conclusion of the softball state tournament in Fort Dodge and with the Southeast Iowa Super Conference (SEISC) season now in the rear view, it’s time to recognize those players that made an impact on their teams with the release of the All-Conference selections.
In the SEISC this season, it was a battle in both the North and South Division. When all was said and done it was Louisa-Muscatine taking the North and West Burlington winning the South.
On this year’s All-Conference list, it’s the Highland Huskies and Cardinal Comets leading the way for Union area teams as each have 10 selected to the list.
First team selections for the Huskies include Grace Batcheller (pitcher), Sarah Burton (infield), Payton Brun (infield), MyLei Smith (outfield) and Jessica Kraus (utility).
Representing the Huskies on the 2nd team are Kinze Hora (infield), Katelyn Waters (outfield) and Lilly Barre (utility). Madison Beeson and Grace Prybil were each honorable mention picks.
Cardinal’s Nicoa McClure (pitcher), Brinlee Ostrander (catcher), Caitlyn Reber (infield), Emma Becker (infield) and Kensey Hissem (outfield) were 1st team selections for the Comets.
Ava Ferrell (pitcher), Riley Bears (infield) and Maddy Lawson (utility) made 2nd team. Madison Diveley and Cynthia Albert were the Comets two honorable mentions.
Cardinal head coach Sabrina Morrison is this years SEISC Coach of the Year.
Columbus follows Highland in the North with six total picks.
Joclyn Fulton (pitcher) and Lily Coil (infield) were the two Wildcats 1st teams selections. Libby White (pitcher) and Sara Vela (utility) were both selected to 2nd team. On the honorable mention list for Columbus are Kennedy Woepking and Victoria Howell.
With four players named to the lists is Hillcrest Academy.
Esther Hughes (outfield) was the Ravens lone 1st team pick. Malia Yoder (infield) was a 2nd team selection. Grace Miller and Norah Yoder were both honorable mention selections.
For Winfield-Mt. Union, Makiah Lower (pitcher), Anna Anderson (catcher) and Jobey Malone (infield) were 2nd team selections. Keely Malone and Melina Oepping each made the honorable mention list.
Pekin’s Claire Roth and Brooke Miller were each honorable mention selections.
The North Divison’s Player of the Year is Serah Shafer of Wapello. Byran Butler of Louisa-Muscatine is the North Coach of the Year.
Following Cardinal in the south is Van Buren and New London.
The Warrior’s Annabelle Cormier (infield), Ivy Davison (outfield) and Callie Kracht (utility) are all 1st teams members. On 2nd team is Allie Campbell (pitcher) and Cala Smith (infield). Kylee Roen and McKenna Caviness made honorable mentions.
Ashlynn McSorley (infield), Elly Manning (infield) and Sophie Malott (utility) were all 2nd team picks for New London. Honorable mentions for the Tigers are Natalie Burden and Megan Lee.
The South Division Player of the Year is West Burlington’s Lauren Summers.
