The Southeast Iowa Super Conference volleyball Tournament is now set as area teams now know their pairings and locations.
In pool play, four SEISC teams head four different locations with the winners from each pool advancing to the championship round at Southeastern Community College on Saturday.
Pool play will start on Thursday at 5 p.m.
Pool one is spearheaded by West Burlington and will take place at Lone Tree. The Falcons are the number one seed. Mediapolis (No. 8), Central Lee (No. 9) and Lone Tree (No. 16) are all in the pool as well.
Pool two will take place at Notre Dame with the Nikes holding the second seed. Wapello (No. 7), Danville (No. 10), Columbus (No. 15) and Louisa-Muscatine (No. 17) will all head to Notre Dame.
New London sits at the top of pool three. The Tigers hold the No. 3 seed. Sixth seeded WACO, along with Van Buren County (No. 11) and Hillcrest Academy (No. 14) are in the pool as well. Pool number three will be played at Harmony High School with Van Buren County playing host.
No. 4 seeded Winfield-Mt. Union will host the fourth and final pool of play. Holy Trinity (No. 5), Highland (No. 12) and Pekin (No. 13) will play at Winfield as well.
Matches will be played based on the number of teams in each pool.
Pools of five teams, pool two, the matchups will be as follows: Round 1: 1vs4, 2vs3, 5 Bye; Round 2: 1vs5, 4vs3, Bye 2; Round 3: 5vs3, 2vs4, Bye 1; Round 4: 1vs2, 4vs5, Bye 3; Round 5: 1vs3, 2vs5, Bye 4.
Four team pools, one, three and four, will have just three rounds.
Round 1: 1vs4 and 2vs3; Round 2: 1vs3 and 2vs4; Round 3: 1vs2, 3vs4.
Site winners will be determined by their win and loss records. If two teams are tied by the end of the competition, a head-to-head will take place.
In case of three way tied, the winning percentage of all games will determine the one, two and three seeds for a playoff. The second seed will play the third in one game of 21, with the winner playing the first seed to determine a winner.
If the winning percentage is tied, then each team flips a coin with the odd team determined to be the third seed. Remaining teams seeding is base on head competition to determine one and two seeds. Seed two and three will play one game to 21, with the winner between the two playing the one seed to 21.
The final pairings and championship round matchups will be: Pool 1 winner vs. Pool 2 runner-up, Pool 3 runner-up vs. Pool 4 winner, Pool 1 runner-up vs. Pool 2 winner, and Pool 3 winner vs. Pool 4 runner-up. All championship round matches begin at 5 p.m. at SCC.
New London’s Elly Manning sets the ball during the Tigers loss to Notre Dame on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022. The Tigers are the third seed at this year SEISC Tournament. (Hunter Moeller/The Union)
