Seventh-grade football falls to, ties with Trojans
The Mt. Pleasant seventh-grade football maroon team dropped an 18-0 decision to Fairfield on Tuesday, while the gold team played to a 6-6 tie with the Trojans.
In the maroon game, Tucker Johnson carried four times for 20 yards and Zach Beason gained 16 yards rushing in four attempts.

The Mt. Pleasant seventh-grade football maroon team dropped an 18-0 decision to Fairfield on Tuesday, while the gold team played to a 6-6 tie with the Trojans.
In the maroon game, Tucker Johnson carried four times for 20 yards and Zach Beason gained 16 yards rushing in four attempts.
Beason was also 6-of-13 passing for 33 yards. Sam Beatty had two catches for 12 yards; Levi Puig had two receptions for 11 yards; and Rhett Zeglin also made two catches, picking up 10 yards.
In the gold game, Mt. Pleasant took a lead in the second quarter on Alec Gardner?s 5-yard run.
Tabian Waddle led the team with five carries for 53 yards. Bryce Anderson carried six times for 17 yards; Tanner Box and Trent Bagwell each picked up 15 yards on the ground.
Anderson was 4-of-9 passing for 27 yards. Garrett Maddy had three catches for 20 yards and Beatty had a seven-yard reception.
Waddle and Hunter Faul each recovered a fumble.
The seventh-grade teams will host Keokuk on Tuesday.
