Seventh grade girls take second at track meet

The Mt. Pleasant Middle School Girls? Relays were held Saturday, April 14, and the Panther girls? track and field team placed second.
Mt. Pleasant had six first-place finishes at the meet: the shuttle hurdle team of Kirsten Smith, Rylee Amos, Sheyanne Walter and Allison Buckert (1:23.37); the distance medley team of Bailey Johnson, Jocelyn Steenblock, Catherine Prough and Lindsay Moeller (5:21.08); Jenna Ludwig in the 400-meter dash (1:07.58) and in the 200 (:30.30); the 4x400 team of Kirsten Smith, Genna Cristoforo, Prough and Buckert (5:03.00); and Buckert in the seven flight hurdles (no time given).
Taking second place for the Panthers was Ludwig with a time of 2:46 in the 800.
Mt. Pleasant also had three third-place finishers: Prough in the 200 (:31.90); Buckert in the long jump (13-2); and Abbie Liechty in the shot put (22-6 1/2).

The seventh grade girls will compete again on Monday at Farifield, starting at 4:30 p.m.
