The Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office responded to an accident at 6:16 a.m. Tuesday in the 1500 block of North Highway 1. Theresa Hetland was northbound on Highway 1 when her vehicle struck a deer in the roadway. Her 1997 Dodge Caravan sustained disabling damage to its hood, radiator and front end.
