Shooting for a Cure tournament conducted

There were over 500 archers at Washington High School Saturday as the Demons raised money to fight cancer with the Shooting for a Cure tournament.
Washington won the high school division team standings, the middle school team standings and the elememntary team standings in the 3D tournaments, which involves shooting at styrofoam animals.
The Demons also won all three divisions in the bullseye tournaments.
In the 3D competition of high schools, Washington edged Prairie Point 1,622-1,621. Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont was third with 1,586. In the 3D competition of middle schools, Washington scored 1,614. Alburnett had 1,509. Prairie point had 1,500. In the elementary contest, Washington's Lincoln had 1,395 to Alburnett's 1,133.
The Demons' high school team scored 3,368 in the bullseye battle. Prairie Point had 3,275. North Scott scored 3,248 for third, Center Point-Urbana was fourth with 3,221 and Alburnett was fifth at 3,102. The middle school tallied a 3,231 total while Prairie Point had 3,168. Third place was Center Point-Urbana at 3,083 and fourth was Alburnett at 3,041. North Scott was fifth at 2,842. Lincoln Elementary had 2,830 to Alburnett's 2,563.
Washington's Breden Duwa was second overall in high school bullseye with a 290 total that included 20 tens. Griffin Wood tied for fifth with a 286 that included 17 tens. Alexis Ide was third overall in girls rankings with a 283 that included 17 tens. Anna Venenga was fourth with a 282, including 14 tens.
In the middle school division, Curtis Stender was tied for first overall, hitting 18 tens on his way to a 287 total. Micah Rees was sixth among boys with a 275, hitting 12 tens. Allison Rees was third among girls with a 274 with 10 tens. Hayden Janecek was eighth with a 268 and 10 tens.
In the elementary boys rankings, Gatlin Nash was third with a 245 and five tens. Quintyn Garibay had a 239 with four tens to place fourth. Audrey Smith was the No. 1 girl, scoring 266 with 10 tens. Isabelle Peterson was second, scoring 259 with eight tens.
In the 3D high school tourney, Wood took second among boys with a 285 that included 19 tens. William Peterson was fifth with a 272 and 15 tens. Ide was second among girls with a 279 with 14 tens. Meghan Case was third, scoring 273 with 11 tens.
In the 3D middle school boys standings, Stender's 271 with 12 tens was third. Riley Kasper was fourth with a 271 and 11 tens. Rees was second among girls with 273 and 12 tens. Makynna Morgan took seventh with nine tens and a 262 total.
Garibay was first in the elementary boys, scoring a 228 with four tens. Blake Sheetz was third with three tens and a 198. Smith was again the top girl, shooting a 256 with five tens. Emma Helfrich scored 245 with four tens to place second.
