Sigourney-Keota shuts out Highland
Cobras avenge losses from last year, beat Huskies

RIVERSIDE — The Highland boys soccer team beat Sigourney-Keota twice in last season’s action on the pitch, but on Monday, the Cobras got their revenge.
Sigourney-Keota shut out Highland 5-0 in the game to win their second contest in three tries.
Sigourney-Keota scored two goals in the first quarter and three in the second to topple the Huskies.
Matt Brainard pitched a shut out in the net. He saved four shots in the game.
Sigourney-Keota spread out all five goals to five different scorers. Cole Clarahan, Chase Haifley, Jackson Vittetoe, Gavin Khali and Ty Shafranek all scored. Carter Wyatt had the team’s only assist.
Highland’s Landon Bell, Ayden Havel and Riley Clothier each had a shot on goal in the loss. In net, Jonathan Jackson finished with 16 saves.
Sigourney-Keota (2-1) will host Wapello (0-1) in their next game on Thursday. Highland (0-2) also will play on Thursday, when they take on WACO. (0-1)
