Highland 8, Pekin 7
Highland just narrowly got by Pekin on Thursday night. The Huskies and Panthers were tied 7-7 after seven innings.
A single run by Highland in the eighth was enough to get the job done.
Logan McFarland had three hits and two RBIs to lead Highland.
For Pekin, Henry Adam and Brandt Latcham had three hits. Latcham had two RBIs as well.
Hillcrest Academy 3, Winfield-Mt. Union 2
Hillcrest Academy and Winfield-Mt. Union were knotted at 2-2 from the fourth inning on in the pairs conference slate on Thursday.
However, the Ravens went on to score one run in the seventh to take the win.
Rowan Miller finished with two hits, one run and one RBI in the win. Mason Helmuth added one hit and one RBI as well.
For WMU, Kohlby Newsom finished with two hits. Trevor Phillips ended with a pair of hits and one RBI.
Hillcrest Academy 13, Keokuk 0
Hillcrest Academy had no problem with Keokuk on Saturday afternoon.
The Ravens scored six runs in the first and third innings on their way to a big win.
Liam Schrock had a huge day, notching two hits, three runs, five RBIs and two home runs.
Winfield-Mt. Union 10, Lone Tree 1
Winfield-Mt. Union had no issue with Lone Tree on Thursday. The Wolves dominated late. After trailing 1-0 into the fifth, WMU scored all 10 in the final three frames.
Kohlby Newsom led the way with three hits, three runs and three RBIs.
Pekin 22, Danville 5
Pekin won a lopsided bout with Danville on Thursday night. The Panthers scored a whopping 16 run in the first two innings and never looked back.
Will Adam finished the day with five hits, three runs and five RBIs with one home run.
Highland 13, Wapello 3
Highland thrashed Wapello on Friday night. The Huskies scored five runs in the second inning to pull away early.
Colten Sypherd had four hits, three runs and one RBI in the win. Logan McFarland finished with three hits, three runs and three RBIs as well.
Keota 4, BGM 3
Keota scored one run in the top of the seventh inning on Thursday to skate past BGM 4-3.
BGM was down 3-0 before scoring three in the bottom of the fifth to tie it.
New London 9, West Burlington 8
New London just edged West Burlington on Friday. The Tigers faced a 8-7 deficit heading into the seventh inning, but walked it off with a pair.
Gage Budern finished with three hits, three runs and one RBI. Gavin Strawhacker had a trio of hits with three RBIs.
New London 11, Cedar Rapids Washington 10
New London finished strong against Cedar Rapids Washington on Saturday. The Tigers were down 10-8 heading into the seventh, but scored three in the top of the final frame to win it.
Gavin Menke-Bailey finished with two hits and two runs in the win. Gage Burden had a pair of hits, one run and three RBIs.
Burlington 7, New London 6
New London nearly took down Burlington on Saturday. The Tigers were down 5-1 early, but were able to take the lead 6-5 after the top half of the fifth.
Burlington went on to outscore the Tigers 2-0 the rest of the way.
Kye Reighard had three hits, one run and four RBIs with a home run.
West Liberty 3, Mid-Prairie 2
Mid-Prairie came up just short against West Liberty on Thursday.
The Golden Hawks led 2-0 heading into the seventh, but the Comets walked it off with three in the seventh.
Tatem Telfer had two hits and one RBI for the Golden Hawks.
St. Albert 6, Mid-Prairie 3
Mid-Prairie fell to St. Albert on Friday night. The Golden Hawks saw their 2-0 first inning lead dissipate after three.
St. Albert scored in every inning following the second.
Brady Weber led the way with three hits and one run for Mid-Prairie. Tatem Telfer had one hit with two RBIs.
Louisa-Muscatine 5, Hillcrest Academy 3
Hillcrest Academy and Louisa-Muscatine were tied 1-1 heading into the seventh inning on Friday, but the Falcons went on to plate four runs in the top of the final frame to win it.
Rowan Miller had two hits and one run for Hillcrest. Mason Helmuth added a hit and two RBIs in the loss.
Central Lee 8, Hillcrest Academy 7
Hillcrest Academy’s rally fell short against Central Lee on Saturday afternoon.
Going into the bottom of the seventh inning, Central Lee held a 8-1 lead. The Ravens went on to put six on the board in the bottom half of the inning, but it wasn’t quite enough.
Mason Bender had two hits and one run in the loss. Liam Schrock had a hit, one run and three RBIs with a home run.
Central Lee 3, Van Buren County 2
Van Buren County came up short against Central Lee on Thursday. The Warriors and Hawks were tied 2-2 heading into the seventh inning, but a run in the bottom of the frame sealed it.
Izaak Loeffler had two hits, while Kayden Simmons finished with one hit and one RBI.
Mediapolis 5, New London 4
New London nearly took down Mediapolis on Thursday. The Tigers led 4-1 until the Bulldogs scored four in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Kye Reighard had three hits and four RBIs in the loss for New London.
Mediapolis 10, Van Buren County 4
Van Buren County had a tough go against Mediapolis on Friday.
The Bulldogs built a 7-0 lead before the Warriors first run and they would never get on top.
Izaak Loeffler had two hits, while Kayden Simmons had two hits and two RBIs.
