No. 2 (8-Player) Winfield-Mt. Union (1-0) at New London (0-1)
Winfield-Mt. Union is coming off a marquee win over previous No. 3 Central City in the first week of the season, 44-36.
New London was downed by Easton Valley on the road 61-22.
The Tigers have played well against the Wolves in recent years and the two have put on a show.
Friday night, WMU will look to show why it's the No. 2 team in the state, while the Tigers will be looking for their first victory.
Iowa Valley (2-0) at No. 5 (8-Player) WACO (1-0)
WACO got the better of Iowa Valley a season ago, 54-26.
The 2022 state runners-up look to have a stellar squad once again as they downed previous No. 7 ranked Fremont-Mills, 26-20, last week in Des Moines.
Iowa Valley already has a pair of wins this season, 60-14 over Lone Tree and 48-30 over BGM.
Cardinal (0-1) at Central Lee (1-0)
Cardinal will be looking to bounce back in week two after suffering a 20-2 defeat to rival Pekin last week.
The Comets will also hope to get some revenge on Central Lee for a 34-14 loss last season.
The Hawks come in off a win over Van Buren County 35-8.
Columbus (0-1) at Wapello (0-1)
Columbus had a tough go in week one as the Wildcats were topped by a stout Mediapolis team 33-7.
The previously No. 5 ranked Wildcats will look to get on the winning track against Wapello away from home.
Wapello owns the all-time record at 13-2, but Columbus took care of the Arrows last season 39-19.
Wapello is coming off a loss to West Burlington 46-6.
No. 8 (Class 2A) (1-0) at Sigourney-Keota (0-1)
Sigourney-Keota hopes to find the winning track after a nail-biting defeat to now No. 6 (Class 2A) PCM in the opening week.
But it's another tough battle ahead against the No. 8 Bulldogs.
Mediapolis will be looking for some revenge as the Cobras bounced them out of the playoffs a year ago in overtime.
The Bulldogs enter after topping Columbus 33-7.
Pekin (1-0) at Van Buren County (0-1)
Pekin is currently 6-0 in historical matchups against Van Buren County.
The Panthers will look to make it seven straight on Friday.
They will look to keep up the winning way as they topped Cardinal last Friday 20-2.
Meanwhile, Van Buren County is looking to get into the win column. They are coming off a 35-8 loss to Central Lee.
Highland (0-1) at Danville (0-1)
Either Highland or Danville will end Friday night with its first win of the season.
Highland comes in off a 38-6 loss to North Cedar, while Danville was downed by Lynnville-Sully 54-13.
This is the first meeting between the two squads since 2016, as Danville once again has a football program.
Mid-Prairie (0-1) at Regina Catholic (1-0)
Mid-Prairie hasn't beaten Regina Catholic since 2008.
The Golden Hawks and Regals have played just twice since then.
After a tough loss to Wilton, 13-0, last week, Mid-Prairie hopes to change the narrative.
Regina Catholic is coming off a victory over West Liberty 44-6.
