Sobaski is medalist

Washington High School hosted Mt. Pleasant and Ft. Madison in a triangular Friday at the Washington Golf and Country Club.
Mt. Pleasant won the meet with a total score of 161 while the Demons took second at 178 and Ft. Madison had a 209.
Brock Sobaski's score of 38 on the par-35 course earned him meet medalist honors. Sobaski had five pars, a birdie, two bogeys and a double bogey.
MP had two players with a score of 39 each.
Brady Knutson carded a 41 and Demon teammate John Prohaska shot 49. Caleb Tanner posted a 50, Mitchell driscoll 51 and Grant Sobaski 61.
Golden Hawks win
Mid-Prairie won its final dual meet of the season Monday, defeating Durant 175-199.
The Golden Hawks finish 4-1 in River Valley Conference dual meets.
'This was a great way to finish up the regular season,” Mid-Prairie coach Kelby Bender said. 'We played the back nine at Blue Top to prepare for the RVC meet (today). This is the tougher of the two nines and I thought we did a good job. Now we have played both nines and fared pretty well. I am excited for the RVC meet.”
Monte Slabaugh played a great round shooting a 39 to earn meet medalist. His round was highlighted by two birdies and three pars. He birdied the par-3 14th and par-4 17th holes. Noah Schlabaugh was runner-up after shooting a 43. He also birdied the par-4 17th hole. Chaz Patterson shot 46 and Dominic McCain shot a 47 to round out the scoring.
SOUTHEAST IOWA SUPER CONFERENCE BOYS TOURNAMENT
The SEISC tourney at the 6,303-yard par-72 Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course Monday saw Iowa Mennonite School finished sixth, Columbus seventh and Highland 11th.
Trevor Leyden tied for 12th as an individual and London Schrock was tied for 17th while Noah Miller tied for 19th.
Columbus Evan Rees was tied for 22nd and Robert Coil tied for 27th.
