Soccer roundup: Mid-Prairie keeps winning

BOYS
Mid-Prairie 8, Cedar Valley Christian 0 (Thursday)
Mid-Prairie dominated Cedar Valley Christian in every aspect of the game last Thursday.
The Golden Hawks scored four goals in each of the two halves. Out of its 38 total shots, Mid-Prairie put 25 on goal.
Alex Bean scored four total goals in the contest. Colin Miller and Jackson Pennington had two each. Diego Ayala, Grady Gingerich, Adrian Sanchez, Owen Trimpe, Gunnar Gingerich and Braden Hartley each finished with an assist.
Justice Jones made three saves in goal.
Mid-Prairie 10, Keokuk 0 (Friday)
The Golden Hawks moved to 6-0 with their victory over Chiefs on Friday.
Mid-Prairie scored four goals in the first and six in the second against Keokuk.
Jackson Pennington led the Golden Hawks with three goals and two assist in the matchup. Alex Bean and Grady Gingerich each finished with two goals. Owen Trimpe had a goal and three assists. Braden Hartley and Justice Jones had one goal each. Adrian Sanchez, Noah Ford and Hugo Banuelos each finished with one assist.
Jones ended with five saves in goal.
Hillcrest Academy 5, Sigourney-Keota 1 (Thursday)
Hillcrest Academy used a big second half on its way to a dominant victory over Sigourney-Keota.
The Raves led by just one, 2-1, after one half of play. In the second, Hillcrest Acadmey shutout the Cobras, while dropping in an additional three goals for the win.
Jorge Canchola finished with a goal and assist for the Ravens. Diego Ramos, Micah Gerber, Grant Bender and Jesse Blossom all finished with one goal. Seth Ours and Gabe Burns each had an assist.
Aiden Krabill ended with three saves for Hillcrest.
Mediapolis 3, Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union 1 (Thursday)
The Wildcats were down just one goal, 2-1, at the half to the Bulldogs.
In the second, Columbus/WMU was unable to get over the hump as Mediapolis pulled away, adding one more goal to secure the win.
GIRLS
Grinnell 4, Mid-Prairie 0 (Thursday)
The Golden Hawks struggled to contain the Tigers in the first half of their matchup.
Grinnell scored three of its four goals in the first half.
Mid-Prairie took a total of 11 shots in the contest, with just three being in on goal. Grinnell took a total of 25 shots, 11 on goal.
Mid-Prairie drops back to .500 with the loss, 3-3.
Mediapolis 2, Columbus/Winfield Mt. Union 0 (Thursday)
Columbus/WMU fell just short against the Bullets. The Wildcats struggled to find the back of the net in the matchup.
Mediapolis’s two first half goals were enough to get by the Wildcats.
