Soccer roundup: Mid-Prairie shows out

BOYS
Mid-Prairie 5, Monticello 0
Mid-Prairie had no problem against Monticello on Friday night.
With 30 shots and 15 on goal, the Golden Hawks were able to stay undefeated.
Gunnar Gingerich tallied two goals. Owen Trimpe finished with a goal and two assists. Alex Bean and Tucker Miller scored one a piece. Braden Hartley and Noah Ford each had an assists.
Andrew Kaufman ended with four saves for the Golden Hawks.
Mid-Prairie 1, Columbus 0 (Thursday)
It only took the Golden Hawks one first half goal to pick up a win over the Wildcats.
Mid-Prairie created an abundance of opportunities against Columbus, sending 15 of its 31 shots toward the goal.
Noah Ford scored the loan goal for the Golden Hawks, with Braden Hartley assisting on the play.
Justice Jones collected three saves in contest.
Hillcrest Academy 5, Highland 0 (Thursday)
Hillcrest Academy fired on all cylinders against Highland.
The Ravens berated the Huskies with 28 total shots, 16 of which were on goal.
Highland struggled on both ends of the ball, finishing with just one shot on the day.
Hillcrest’s Diego Ramos finished with two goals and an assist. Jorge Canchola ended with two goals and Micah Gerber had one. Collin Miller tallied two assist in the contest. Aiden Krabill made two saves.
Luke Guseman took one shot for Highland and Eli Slaymaker secured four saves.
Regina Catholic 1, Hillcrest Academy 0
Hillcrest Academy struggled to get the ball into the back of the net against Regina Catholic, taking just one shot in the contest.
On the contrary, the Ravens played outstanding defense, holding the Regals scoreless throughout the games entirety and extra time.
Hillcrest unfortunately fell in the penalty shootout, 1-0.
Aiden Krabill tallied a spectacular 13 saves in the contest.
Wapello 10, Highland 1
The Huskies had a rough outing against the Indians.
Wapello scored four goals in the first half and added six more in the second.
Highlands loan goal came in the second period.
On their way to 10 goals, the Indians accumulated a total of 28 shots, 15 on target.
GIRLS
Mid-Prairie 7, Monticello 0
Mid-Prairie put together a dominant performance against Monticello on Friday evening.
Esther Hughes had herself a game, finishing with five goals and two assists.
Kaitlin Martin finished with a goal and an assist. Julia Boller scored a single goal. Paityn Jennings ended with two assists.
Mid-Prairie 9, Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union 1 (Thursday)
Mid-Prairie put up a stellar performance against Columbus/WMU on Thursday.
The Golden Hawks barraged the Wildcats with 40 total shots, 25 on goal.
Esther Hughes put up 15 total shots herself and finished with five total goals and one assist on the day.
Kaitlin Martin added three goals and Evelyn Gerber chipped in one goal along with two assists.
Julia Boller finished with two assists, while Leah Bontrager and Lydia Beachy each tallied one assist.
