Softball players receive all-state honors
Six area softball players received All-State honors from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association recently, with three being named to the Southeast District team as well.
Chosen to the Class 2A first team All-State team was senior Kelsey Hora, from Highland.
She was not the lone player from Highland to receive honors.
Sophomores Megan Hoenig, Sarah Schneider, Abbie Miller and Aly Stokes each received Honorable Mention.

Junior Avery Blauvelt from Iowa Mennonite School received Honorable Mention in Class 1A All-State team.
Both Hora and Stokes were chosen for the Class 2A Southeast All-District team while Blauvelt was chosen for the Class 1A All-District team.
