Hillcrest Academy 15, Belle Plaine 5
Hillcrest Academy defeated Belle Plaine on Thursday with a stellar offensive showing.
The Ravens trailed 3-2 after one, but scored 13 between the third and fifth innings.
Malia Yoder had three hits, two runs and one RBI in the win. Delaney Shaw finished with two hits, two runs and four RBIs.
Keota 9, Pekin 5
Keota used a couple big middle innings to get by Pekin on Saturday. The Eagles were down 3-1 to Pekin after two innings, but they went on to score seven runs between the third and fifth.
Jessalyn Aller had two hits, two runs and two RBIs for Keota.
Highland 9, Pekin 7
After falling behind 5-2 in the first inning on Thursday, Highland outscored Pekin 7-2 the rest of the way.
Maiya Singbeil led Highland with three hits, two runs and one RBI.
For Pekin, Abby Guise ended with two hits and two RBIs.
Pekin 6, Columbus 3
Pekin was able to down Columbus on Friday. The Wildcats held a 3-2 lead after the first, but would never score again.
Addison Smith had three hits and two runs for Pekin. Kendra Schultz followed with a hit and two RBIs.
For Columbus, Daniela Diaz had three hits and one run. Lily Coil had one hit and one RBI.
Cardinal 9, Davis County 6
Cardinal finished strong against Davis County on Thursday. The Comets led by just one, 7-6, after the fourth inning, but scored one run each in the fifth and sixth.
Sophia Brown had two hits and two runs in the win. Maclain Hickenbottom tallied two hits, one run and two RBIs.
Hillcrest Academy 7, Danville 4
Hillcrest Academy grabbed a win over Danville on Saturday. The Ravens faced a one run deficit in the middle of the third, 4-1, but went on to outscored the Bears 6-0 the rest of the way.
Malia Yoder ended with two hits and one run for Hillcrest Academy. Delaney Shaw tallied two hits, two runs and two RBIs.
Highland 3, Wapello 2
Highland narrowly slipped by Wapello on Friday. The Huskies held off a late surge by the Arrows to win it.
Maiya Singbeil had one hit for Highland. Lilly Barre ended with one RBI.
Columbus 5, Iowa Valley 4
Columbus erased a 4-0 Iowa Valley lead on Saturday, scoring five runs between the fourth and fifth inning to take the win.
Lily Coil ended up with two hits, two runs and two RBIs in the win.
West Liberty 7, Mid-Prairie 3
Mid-Prairie’s 3-1 lead over West Liberty didn’t last on Friday. The Comets plated six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the lead and they never gave it up.
Sophie Miller had two hits and one RBI to lead the Golden Hawks.
Wapello 10, WACO 0
Trinity Dean led WACO in its loss to Wapello on Thursday. Dean ended with one hit. Addison Alliman had one hit as well.
Danville 15, WACO 0
Danville scored all its runs in the first three innings on Friday night as the Warriors couldn’t find an offensive rhythm.
Kaylan Willits had one hit for WACO.
Louisa-Muscatine 13, Hillcrest Academy 5
Hillcrest Academy couldn’t keep up with the second ranked Falcons on Friday.
The Falcons scored in all but one inning on the night, jumping out to a 10-4 advantage through four innings.
Morgyn Nafziger led Hillcrest with two hits. Malia Yoder had a hit and two RBIs.
BGM 5, Keota 4
Keota fell to BGM on Friday after the pair 4-4 tie was broken by the Bears in the seventh on a walk-off.
Adyson Ahlberg had three hits for the Eagles. Karley Greiner finish with one hit and one RBI.
Louisa-Muscatine 10, Columbus 0
Central City 12, Pekin 2
Pekin’s 2-0 lead over Central City didn’t last long on Saturday. The Wildcats went on to score all 12 points between the fourth and sixth innings.
West Branch 13, Columbus 6
Central Lee 5, Van Buren County 4
Van Buren County came up just short against Central Lee on Thursday. The two teams were knotted up 4-4 heading into the seventh, but the Hawks scored the winning run in the bottom of the frame.
Ashlynn Huff had four hits, one run and one RBI for VBC. Addison Brauns finished with two hits and one RBI.
Mediapolis 12, Van Buren County 4
Van Buren County was leading Mediapolis 3-1 after four innings on Friday, but the Bulletts scored all 12 of their runs after that.
Addison Brauns finished with three hits and one RBI in the loss.
Mediapolis 1, New London 0
New London and Mediapolis needed extra innings on Thursday. The two teams went scoreless all the way into the ninth inning, but it was Mediapolis who got the run to win it.
West Burlington-Notre Dame 11, New London 2
West Burlington-Notre Dame scored six runs between the first two innings on Friday.
The Tigers answered back with two of their own in the bottom of the second, but the Falcons only extended their lead.
Holy Trinity Catholic 4, Hillcrest Academy 3
Hillcrest Academy’s comeback bid against HTC came up just short on Saturday.
The Ravens were down 4-0 heading into the sixth innings. They were able to cut it to three after the sixth and then one in the seventh, but they could never find the tie.
Ella Mize had three hits for Hillcrest. Malia Yoder ended with three hits and one RBI.
