Softball roundup: Columbus wins; Mid-Prairie, Keota struggle

Columbus 3, Danville 1
After three scoreless innings, Columbus scored two in the fourth to Danville’s one to take the lead. The Wildcats added one more in the fifth and the Bears never had an answer.
Lily Coil, Libby White, Jocelyn Fulton, Lecet Quiroz, Victoria Howell, Audrey Hoback and Susy Herrera all had one hit in the game. White and Quiroz each had an RBI.
White was credited with the win, allowing four hits, one run, two walks and 11 strikeouts.
No. 4 Iowa City Regina 6, Mid-Prairie 1
Mid-Prairie took a 1-0 lead in the game against Regina, but the Regals put six on the board the rest of the way out.
Dakota Mitchell, Gabi Robertson, Brittney Kinsinger and Madeline Schrader all tallied two hits. Sydney Knewbel threw six innings for the Golden hawks, giving up nine hits, three earned runs, three walks and one strikeout.
BGM 8, Keota 1
Keota scored once in the seventh inning, but the Eagles couldn’t overcome the deficit to defeat the Bears.
