Softball roundup: Demons split
Anderson has 13 Ks, no-walks, 1-hitter for WMU

KEOKUK — Washington split a pair of Southeast Conference softball games Thursday with the Keokuk Chiefs, winning 15-6 and losing 12-8.
Isabella Salazar gave up 12 hits, two walks and two earned runs in the complete game win, striking out 10 Chiefs.
Emma Herr connected for a home run and batted in three runs. Demon teammate Cameron Malichky had a triple and a single while Kellie Dallmeyer had a double and a single.
Dallmeyer collected four hits in the second game, including a triple while Ava Turner had two hits.
WMU 1-hits Lions
WINFIELD — The home team blanked Super Conference North Division foe Lone Tree 7-0 as Anna Anderson hit a double and a single while Madie Anderson sat down 13 Lions on strikeouts, allowed a single hit with no walks.
Mid-Prairie edged
CASCADE — The Golden Hawks lost a River Valley Conference game 7-6 to Cascade despite Madeline Schrader’s home run. Hannah Sellers and Katelyn Schneider each had two hits. Myah Lugar struck out five in the loss.
Miller leads Pekin
PACKWOOD — Brooke Miller went 5-for-5 as the Panthers disposed of visiting Mediapolis 11-1. Miller pitched all five innings and allowed five hits with no walks and fanned five.
Diaz homers for Columbus
COLUMBUS JUNCTION — The Wildcats won the North Division game over visiting Hillcrest 12-0 with Michelle Diaz cracking a two-run home run.
Madeline Fox had the only Hillcrest hit off winning pitcher Libby White.
Highland haunts Hawks
DONNELLSON — A six-run fourth inning helped the Huskies win 7-2 over Central Lee as Jenna Sands and Payton Bruns each had three hits. Grace Batcheller had seven hits, three walks and three strikeouts in the win.
Falcons foil New London
WEST BURLINGTON — Natalie Burden had the Tigers only hit in a 10-0 loss to Class 3A No. 4 WB/ND.
McClure dinger is difference
ELDON — Alexia McClure's fifth-inning grand slam doubled Cardinal's four-run lead over Danville. Nicoa McClure added three hits in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division win.
Ava Ferrell picked up the win, allowing one run on six hits while walking two with five strikeouts. Emma Becker singled and scored twice for the Comets (4-8, 3-2) and Caitlyn Reber had a triple.
