South Division wins girls’ shootout

The South Division dominated the SEISC girls' shootout over the weekend, winning seven of the eight cross-over games in the series. Henry County teams went 1-2 in the shootout as WACO took down Winfield-Mt. Union 50-32 and New London fell 35-27 against Lone Tree.
WACO and W-MU met up at Notre Dame High School in Burlington. The Warriors led 24-10 at halftime and 32-17 after three quarters en route to an 18-point win.
Aubri Garnsey led the Warriors with 12 points. Kristen Conley had 10. W-MU was led by an eight-point performance from Jenna Buffington.
New London trailed Lone Tree 10-3 after the first quarter, 18-11 at halftime and 25-18 after three periods. The Tigers were unable to win any of the four quarters in a 35-27 loss.
Van Buren won the conference championship with a 45-40 win over Pekin. Central Lee defeated Mediapolis 59-57. West Burlington beat Highland 59-39. Holy Trinity defeated Lone Tree 55-20. Danville beat Wapello 41-23. Notre Dame took down Iowa Mennonite 75-55, and Cardinal beat Columbus 52-35.
