South goes 7-1 against North in Shootout

The Southeast Iowa Super Conference Shootout saw the South Division go 7-1 in high school girls basketball games against the North Friday. WACO was the lone South winner.
Central Lee, Class 3A's No. 10 ranked team has a 15-3 record after it beat Mediapolis (17-2) on a shot with 2 seconds left, 59-57. Van Buren (14-2), No. 11 in 2A, downed Pekin (13-3) 45-40. Holy Trinity (11-5) beat Louisa-Muscatine (7-10) 55-20 and Danville (12-5) beat Wapello (11-5) 41-23.
WACO 50, Winfield-Mt. Union 32
At Burlington Notre Dame, the Warriors (6-11) took a lead of 8-4 after the first quarter and expanded it to 24-10 by halftime.
West Burlington 59, Highland 39
The home team led 16-3 after the first quarter, 25-14 at the half and 45-27 after the third.
Abbie Miller scored 16 and Highland teammate Aly Stokes had 12 rebounds and four blocks. Haley Sweeting doled out four assists.
Highland is 12-6.
Notre Dame 75, Iowa Mennonite School 55
The Nikes led 28-27 at halftime.
Suzanna Yoder poured in 29 points and IMS teammate Yani Gutierrez added 13.
IMS (7-10) plays at Columbus Tuesday.
