CEDAR FALLS - Iowa high school football held its annual Shrine Bowl at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls on Satuday. The South squad, which featured players Chase Lamm of Mt. Pleasant and Colton Horak of WACO, as well as Panther coach Shawn Striegel, came out victorious with a 24-13 win over the North.
The Shrine Bowl is an annual All-Star game that raises money for the Shriners Hospitals for Children. To date, the Shrine Bowl has raised over $2,600,000.
Players selected to the shrine bowl are selected by a process of nomination by coaches, balloting by statewide sports media professionals and official invitation from a representative of the Iowa Shrine Bowl.
