Southeast Conference names All-Conference girls’ team

With the end of the Southeast Conference girls season, it’s now time for area players to get their distinction for performance and academics with the release of the All-Conference teams.
This years All-SEC First Team list is senior dominant, as four seniors grace the list, followed by two juniors. As for second team, two seniors made the list, along with two juniors and two sophomores.
Keokuk senior Abby Wolter was voted the Player of the Year for the second year in a row. Wolter averaged 23.9 points per game this season. Following Wolter based on scoring was Malarie Ross of Fort Madison. Ross led the league averaging 24.2 points per game this season. Mt. Pleasant’s Andrea Lopreato, one of the two juniors on the list, averaged 21.3 points per game in her junior season. Danielle Breen represents Fairfield averaging 14.4 points. Keokuk’s Kayde Martin averaged 13.5 points per game in her junior campaign. Rounding out the list is Kenna Lamm of Mt. Pleasant. Lamm averaged 11.9 points.
Lopreato led the conference in rebounds with 9.9 per game, assists with 4.3, and blocks with a 1.3 per game average. She was also fourth in steals averaging 3.9 a game. Breen’s 14.4 points per game was fourth best in the SEC. Lamm’s scoring average was seventh best. She was also fourth in three pointers made per game.
Fairfield’s Delaney Breen and Mallory Lyon were named to second team, along with Washington’s Alex Murphy.
On the academic side of the sphere, Fairfield leads the way with nine players named to the All-Academic SEC. Mt. Pleasant and Washington each have four.
Each school was allowed two players to the Honorable Mention list. The full list and those who were awarded SEC All-Academic can be found below.
