Swimming
The Fairfield swimming team competed at the Muscatine Invite on Saturday.
The team finished sixth out of seven teams.

The Fairfield swimming team competed at the Muscatine Invite on Saturday.
The team finished sixth out of seven teams.
Katherine Mueller placed first in diving with a score of 225.30.
Baylee Bowman placed third in the 100-yard freestyle (58.81) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:06.68).
Lauren Ward shaved two seconds off her 100-yard backstroke time (1:16.92) and Sarah Davisson cut off ten seconds from her 50-yard freestyle time (35.58).
Trojan Dash
The Trojan Dash will be on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Waterworks Park in Fairfield.
Registration has ended but late registration is still possible.
This is a 2-mile course that can be run twice if desired. There will be 15 obstacles to challenge participants.
Heats start at 7:30 a.m. and will start every half hour until 9 a.m.
Prizes will be awarded to overall winners and age/sex division winners.
The overall fee for participating is now $40. Organizers ask that you show up at least a half hour before your start time.

Sports cancellations
Fairfield sporting events have either had to change times or been cancelled because of the extreme heat.
The 7th and 8th grade football games against Keokuk have been pushed back to Thursday. Tonight?s JV football game against Chariton has been canceled.
