Fairfield girls? golf earns road victory
The Fairfield girls? golf team won at Davis County 229-246 Tuesday.
There was a four way tie for the individual first place medal. Abby Adam and Madelyn Swan of Fairfield tied Skylar Yahnke and Blair Bodkins of Davis County when all four players shot a 56.
Fairfield?s No. 1 golfer, Lindsey Repp, finished barely behind her teammates with a 58.

Fairfield girls? golf earns road victory
The Fairfield girls? golf team won at Davis County 229-246 Tuesday.
There was a four way tie for the individual first place medal. Abby Adam and Madelyn Swan of Fairfield tied Skylar Yahnke and Blair Bodkins of Davis County when all four players shot a 56.
Fairfield?s No. 1 golfer, Lindsey Repp, finished barely behind her teammates with a 58.
?Lindsey didn?t have her best night and that is going to happen once in awhile,? Fairfield coach Joe Kruzich said. ?But it was nice to see a couple of other girls, in Abby and Madelyn, pick up some of the slack.?
Olivia Hammel shot a 59, Kylee Marlay got a 69 and Taylor Marlay shot a 74 to round out the Trojan starting lineup.
?We have a long way to go, but we are continuing to get better,? Kruzich said. ?We?ll get back on the course, clean some things up and be ready for our next challenge.?
Fairfield will hit the road Thursday and play at the Mid-Prairie Invite.
Trojans boys earn two singles wins
The Fairfield boys? tennis team fell in Fort Madison 6-3 Tuesday.
No. 1 Govi Punj bounced back with a 6-0, 6-1 victory after narrowly losing Monday to Sam Stickels of Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment.
Landon Greiner also earned a singles victory by the score of 6-3, 7-5 over Jarrett Lightfoot. Punj and Greiner then combined to win a close doubles match 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 over Bloodhounds? players Wesley Burnhardt and Drake Hogan.
The Trojans travel to Mt. Pleasant Thursday.
Fairfield girls? lose close tennis match
The Fairfield girls? tennis team came up just short against Fort Madison Tuesday at Fairfield Middle School.
The Bloodhounds won 6-4 overall. Fairfield?s No. 1, Karley Williams, won her match over Rachel Sugars 8-1. Meghan Shelangoski and Brynna Gridley both lost narrowly to their opponents. No. 6 player Dayna Price won 8-4 to close out the singles matches for the Trojans.
The doubles tandem of Williams and Harley Cook won 8-5, and the duo of Shelangoski and Gridley won 8-4. JV player Audry Hammes won her match for Fairfield 7-6 over Lexi Gonzales.
The Trojans will host Mt. Pleasant Thursday.
Van Buren falls in home golf meet
The Van Buren boys? and girls? golf teams lost home meets Tuesday to New London.
The boys? team was defeated 171-189. Tristan Kadel led New London with a 1-over-par 37, which was the best score for either team.
Robby Laughlin and Noah Witten each shot a 45 to lead the Warriors. Austin Bartholomew shot a 47, while his teammate Tyson Sprouse shot a 52.
The Van Buren girls fell 186-255. Lydia Heald led the Warriors by shooting a 58. Emily Jester shot a 65, and her teammates Taylor Murguia and Kourtney Banks both shot a 66.
Van Buren will travel to Central Lee Thursday.
Wartburg College wins home meet
The Wartburg College men and women both won the Wartburg Outdoor Twilight track meet Tuesday in Waverly.
Wartburg sprinter and Fairfield High School graduate Libbey Schubert won the women?s 100-meter dash with the time of 12:35.
