JV boys fall to Williamsburg
The Fairfield JV boys? basketball team fell to Williamsburg 54-45 Friday to close the regular season.
Zach Martin led the Trojans with 10 points. Alex Crile and Alex Simpson both scored eight points. Landen Greiner led the team with 14 rebounds.

JV boys fall to Williamsburg
The Fairfield JV boys? basketball team fell to Williamsburg 54-45 Friday to close the regular season.
Zach Martin led the Trojans with 10 points. Alex Crile and Alex Simpson both scored eight points. Landen Greiner led the team with 14 rebounds.
The Trojans started the season 0-8, but went 6-6 down the stretch and finished 6-14.
?We lost several close games early on, but these young men did not give up,? Fairfield coach Glenn Perkins said.
FMS girls defeat Washington
The Fairfield Middle School seventh-grade girls? basketball A team defeated Washington 31-27.
Washington tied the game with one minute left, but Fairfield was able to score four points to close out the win.
?This was a game we were looking forward to since they beat us the first game,? Fairfield coach Derek Philips said. ?Although we really struggled from the free throw line, we did enough to come away with the win.?
Kara Jeffrey led the Trojans with 11 points. Ashley Bloomquist and Malory Jones both scored six points. Olivia Roberts chipped in three points.
The B team lost 23-17. Madison Kraemer scored seven points. Jordan Brandt and Jaiden Hainline both finished with four points.
The Trojans play at home against Burlington Edward Stone on Thursday.
All-Conference teams announced for SEISC girls
The Southeast Iowa Super Conference has announced its All-Conference girls? teams for the 2013-14 season.
Pekin coach Davis Eidahl won coach of the year for the North Division after leading the Panthers to a 17-5 record. Beth Atwood made the first team after leading the division in rebounds and was one of five unanimous selections. The other four were Olivia Yutze (IMS), Andrea Larson (Mediapolis), Heidi Hillyard (Mediapolis) and Shelby Therme (Winfield-Mount Union).
Gwynne Wright also made the first team. Senior Samantha Wright was a second team selection. Madelyn Baker and Jessica Horras were both honorable mentions.
Jessie McElderry of Cardinal and Kaitlyn Johnson of Van Buren both made the first team for the South Division. McElderry averaged 13.6 points per game, while Johnson scored 14.8 points per game.
Cardinal?s Delaney Ridgway made the second team. Lexi Fullenkamp and Danae Moses were both honorable mention selections.
Van Buren?s Shayla Filson and Abbey Rider were both honorable mentions as well.
