MSAE loses in Burlington
The Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment boys? basketball team lost Monday at Burlington Notre Dame 71-25.
Giovanni Cingire led the Pioneers with nine points. Suraj Pullapantulla finished with six points, five rebounds, one assist and one steal. David Fleshman scored four points.
The Pioneers are scheduled to host Danville tonight.

MSAE loses in Burlington
The Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment boys? basketball team lost Monday at Burlington Notre Dame 71-25.

Trojan wrestlers compete at home
Fairfield JV wrestlers competed at the JV Southern Iowa Classic Tournament Friday at Fairfield High School.
Garrett Bowermaster (134-145) defeated John Rose of Mt. Pleasant in 28 seconds to earn a first place finish. Austin Francisco (167-170), Alex Landon-Hahn (189-206) and Benjamin Boender (171-180) also got first place finishes.
Chris Workman received second place and Dallas Peebler finished third in the 99-116 weight division. These teammates actually faced each other during the tournament, and Workman won by fall at the 5:54 mark.
Mitchell Taglauer (151-158) got second place and went 2-1 on the night. Chris Hanson (172-188) and Randy Pugh (178-188) also earned second place finishes.
Bailey Jones went 2-1 on the night and received second place in the 120-123 pound division. Bailey Kemp (124-126), Alex Sisomphone (150-161) and Charles Heisel (126-133) each got third place.
Pekin?s Coaches vs. Cancer event scheduled Friday
Pekin will hold a Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser Friday when the boys? and girls? basketball teams host Winfield-Mount Union.
Live auctions, silent auctions, and a quilt raffle are among the activities planned for the evening in order to raise money for cancer research and prevention. Themed baskets and gifts are being added to the list daily.
The items being sold at the live auction will be Kansas City Royals tickets, St. Louis Cardinal tickets, a NFL limited autographed Chicago Bears football, a gift certificate to Martini?s Grille and Iowa State men?s basketball tickets. The live auctions will take place during the halftimes.
