Fairfield wrestlers compete in West Delaware
The Fairfield wrestling team traveled Saturday to West Delaware for the Bob Murphy Invitational.
Davenport Assumption, Decorah, and Waterloo East were among the teams joining West Delaware at the tournament.
Bryce Lunsford (160) is now 3-3 on the year after going 2-2 Saturday. Lunsford placed second for his weight class at the invite.

Fairfield wrestlers compete in West Delaware
The Fairfield wrestling team traveled Saturday to West Delaware for the Bob Murphy Invitational.
Davenport Assumption, Decorah, and Waterloo East were among the teams joining West Delaware at the tournament.
Bryce Lunsford (160) is now 3-3 on the year after going 2-2 Saturday. Lunsford placed second for his weight class at the invite.
Austin Francisco (170), Maxwell Spalla (182) and Randall Pugh (195) each placed third in their weight classes.
Brett Scott (220) received first place and earned 14 team points by going 4-0 on the day. Scott is now 5-1 on the season.
MSAE falls to Holy Trinity Catholic
The Pioneers dropped their second game of the season Friday when they lost to Holy Trinity Catholic 67-39.
Suraj Pullapantula led the way with 17 points, which included four three-point shots. Surya Sawhney had two points, two steals and 13 rebounds. Avery Mullenneaux scored seven points and corralled four rebounds. Rashan Anderson added six points.
The Pioneers (0-2) travel Tuesday to Cardinal.
Cardinal has tough time with Burlington Notre Dame
The boys? and girls? basketball teams at Cardinal hosted Burlington Notre Dame on Friday.
The boys team fell 64-47. The score was only 5-2 Cardinal after the first quarter, but each team would score more frequently as the game went on.
Junior Cody Streeby led the Comets with 16 points and nine rebounds. Kaleb Durflinger scored nine points and got nine rebounds.
Cardinal (1-1) will host MSAE on Tuesday before traveling Friday to New London.
The girls? team lost 89-37. Jessie McElderry and Delaney Ridgeway both scored 12 points to lead Cardinal. A trio of Comets scored four points.
Cardinal?s next game is Friday at New London.
