State diving today; swimming Saturday
Freshman Katherine Mueller opens up the state swim and dive meet today for Fairfield at the Marshalltown Community Y in Marshalltown.

Freshman Katherine Mueller opens up the state swim and dive meet today for Fairfield at the Marshalltown Community Y in Marshalltown.
Mueller begins her quest for a medal in the 1-meter dive at 5 p.m. The current FHS record-holder in the 11-dive event is seeded 18th out of 30 after scoring 337.10 at regionals.
On Saturday, Fairfield junior Baylee Bowman also will be competing in Marshalltown after qualifying in the 100-yard freestyle. First competition will get under way at noon, and Bowman is in the sixth event of the day.
The junior is making her third straight trip to the state meet and is currently the owner of four FHS records.
