State football quarterfinal matchups

The Union area is down to one high school football team still in contention, and that squad is one of eight teams left in Class 8-Player.

Heading into the quarterfinal round, top-ranked Winfield-Mount Union will represent the area on Thursday when they take on No. 8 Don Bosco.

Each of the seven football classes has four games going over the weekend, for a total of 28 playoff games around the state of Iowa.
