State football semifinals schedule

The Iowa High School Athletic Association’s 2023 State Football Playoff Semifinal slate is set across all seven classes.

After a plethora of action between Thursday and Friday night last week, just four teams remain in Class 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A, A and 8-Player.

That means from here on out all state playoff games will take place at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls until champions of each class are crowned.

Following will be the schedules of all 14 games in the semifinal round.

Kicking off the action will be Class 8-Player on Wednesday, Nov. 8 beginning at 10 a.m.

EIGHT-PLAYER

10:00 — No. 4 Bishop Garrigan, Algona (10-1) vs. No. 1 Winfield-Mt. Union (11-0)

1:00 — No. 3 Gladbrook-Reinbeck (10-1) vs. No. 2 Bedford (11-0)

On Thursday, Nov. 9 Class A and 4A will take the field.

CLASS A

10:00 — No. 2 Madrid (11-0) vs. No. 3 West Hancock, Britt (10-1)

1:00 — No. 4 East Buchanan, Winthrop (9-2) vs. No. 1 Woodbury Central, Moville (11-0)

CLASS 4A

4:00 — No. 3 North Polk (9-2) vs. No. 2 Lewis Central (9-2)

7:00 — No. 4 Bondurant-Farrar (9-2) vs. No. 1 Western Dubuque (10-1)

Friday, Nov. 10 will feature teams from Class 1A and 5A.

CLASS 1A

10:00 — No. 4 Columbus Catholic, Waterloo (9-2) vs. No. 1 Grundy Center (11-0)

1:00 — No. 3 MFL MarMac (10-1) vs. No. 2 Underwood (10-1)

CLASS 5A

4:00 — No. 4 Valley, West Des Moines (6-5) vs. No. 1 Southeast Polk (11-0)

7:00 — No. 3 Ankeny Centennial (7-4) vs. No. 2 Ankeny (8-3)

Finishing out the semifinal action on Saturday, Nov. 11 will be Class 2A and 3A.

CLASS 2A

10:00 — No. 3 Monticello (10-1) vs. No. 2 Van Meter (11-0)

1:00 — No. 4 Spirit Lake (10-1) vs. No. 1 Central Lyon/George-Little Rock (11-0)

CLASS 3A

4:00 — No. 4 Bishop Heelan Catholic, Sioux City (10-1) vs. No. 1 Creston (11-0)

7:00 — No. 2 Williamsburg (10-1) vs. No. 3 Solon (10-1)
