State wrestling: Final day

After the consolation semifinals of the Iowa High School wrestling state tournament, nine area wrestlers will be wrestling for medals.

Washington

Brad Skubal (195 pounds):

Skubal will wrestle for the 2A state championship on Saturday night.

Kyle Anderson (120 pounds):

Anderson will wrestle for seventh place on Saturday afternoon

UPDATE: Anderson fell in an 11-3 major decision in his seventh-place match and will take eighth place at the state tournament.

Columbus

Josh Keller (106 pounds):

Keller will wreslte for the 2A state championship on Saturday night.

UPDATE: Keller fell 6-3 in the state championship and finished in second place in his junior state tournament.

Tucker Morrison (170 pounds):

Morrison will wrestle for seventh place on Saturday afternoon.

UPDATE: Morrison lost to Mediapolis' Luke Erickson 2-1 in the ultimate tiebreaker. He took eighth place at the touranem

Kyle Davis (285 pounds):

Davis will wrestle for seventh place on Saturday afternoon.

UPDATE: Davis fell in his final match in a 3-2 decision for eighth place overall.

Highland

Bryce West (120 pounds):

West will wrestle for the 1A state championship on Saturday night.

UPDATE: Bryce West won his championship match in a 14-6 major decision to earn the Class 1A 120 pound championship. It's his first state title after finishing in second last season.

Drew West (113 pounds):

West will wrestle for third place in Class 1A on Saturday afternoon.

UPDATE: Drew West won a 6-0 decision in his final match to earn third place in the state tournament.

Mid-Prairie

Duncan McCain (113 pounds):

McCain will wrestle for fifth place on Saturday afternoon.

UPDATE: Due to a shoulder issue, McCain had to forfeit his fifth-place match. He will finish sixth at the state tournament.

Levi Duwa (195 pounds):

Duwa will wrestle for seventh place on Saturday afternoon.

UPDATE: Duwa was pinned in his final match of the tournament, taking eighth place overall.
