CORALVILLE — Fourteen Union area wrestlers qualified for the 2025 Iowa High School Girls State Wrestling Tournament, and four of them were still wrestling in Friday night’s final session.
Sigourney-Keota’s Reanah Utterback defended her state title and finished her high school career undefeated against female opponents, pinning Don Bosco’s Erica Irvine in 3 minutes, 52 seconds in the Class 1A 115-pound championship.
Utterback finished her high school career 104-0.
Other wrestlers competing on Friday night included Fairfield’s Samantha Lyons, who made Trojan history by becoming the first ever placewinner in Fairfield girls wrestling history, finishing fourth at 1A-170. Mid-Prairie’s Ashlee Farrier was fifth at 1A-130, and Pekin’s Lexa Nelson placed sixth at 1A-105.
Tuesday’s edition of the Southeast Iowa Union will have full results for all 14 wrestlers who represented the area at the 2025 state meet.
