Stout leads Keota for golf win

KEOTA — Facing South Iowa Cedar League foe Lynnville-Sully Thursday, the Keota boys golf team posted a team score of 180 to the visitors 199.
Keota’s Sawyer Stout was the meet’s runner-up with a score of 44, making two pars. Colten Clarahan and Luke Hammen each shot 45. Both had a par on three of the nine holes. Cole Kindred shot 46 with three pars.
Behind Caden Sprouse’s 43, Keota’s junior varsity scored lower than the visitors varsity with a 190.
Ravens prey on Wildcats
KALONA — Hillcrest took the boys golf match from Columbus with a 209-251 score.
Jace Rempel shot the low score of 44, and Hillcrest teammate Luke Schrock had a 47. London Schrock posted a 51 and Josiah Beachy a 67.
Columbus had scores of 60 from both Logan Bright and Robert Coil. Grant Watson had a 63 and Cole Storm a 68.
Highland golfs with Wapello
RIVERSIDE — At Blue Top Ridge, Highland and Wapello played a round of golf, but neither side had enough players for a team.
Highland’s girls shot 250 for a team score with Charlie Aicher at 59, Kelsi Cerny 62, Carson Mellinger 63 and Jenna Waters 66. The Highland boys did not have a team score but Jamison Kasparek shot 43, Payton Yeggy 52 and Brock Schaedler 53.
